Claims book

The scheme wants the invoice. The family is still the bookkeeper.

Type the yearly figures the participant portal already shows. Put the invoices against them, including anything paid out of pocket. Hours stay with the invoice. This does not read the portal, and it does not lodge a claim.

1 December 2026

90 days

Claims for supports delivered on or after 2026-12-01 must be made within 90 days. The old window could run toward two years. Late, in a family, is often executive function — not fraud.

Already in force

3 years

Keep the claim record for three years. The note, the invoice, and what the support was actually for.

1 October budgets

Tag the line

Participation is being reset by 50 per cent. Capacity-building daily activity by 10 per cent. Tag a spend so a cut is not mistaken for a quiet month.

The year, as the portal shows it

The participant portal is basic, and it cannot be read from here. Type the yearly budget it shows. Only invoices on or after the plan date count. When the plan changes, save these figures first, then type the new ones. The old year stays in the list.

Self-managed

You pay, or you claim first

Two paths. Claim in the participant portal or the app, the money lands in the bank, then you pay. Or pay with your own money and claim it back with the receipt. Only this path needs you to keep the invoice.

Plan-managed

The invoice goes to the manager

They claim and they pay the provider. You still want a copy. The scheme does not send that copy here.

NDIA-managed

The provider claims

A registered provider asks the scheme directly. You can see what was paid in the portal. You cannot pull that list into this book. A plan can mix all three.

What you still have to type

  • The yearly amounts. The portal does not export them.
  • Which budget line a row belongs to. A bank file does not know.
  • Hours. They are not on a spreadsheet export.
  • Out of pocket, or not. An import assumes it is a plan invoice.
  • One invoice is one line. A split across two budgets is two entries.

A CSV, JSON, or MYOB export can bring the date, the amount, who was paid, and a reference. It will not bring the plan, the hours, or a claim already sitting in the portal. This book does not lodge anything.

Import

CSV or JSON. MYOB-style exports are the usual shape: Date, Memo or Description, Debit or Amount, Supplier, Reference. A credit column is used only if there is no debit. Nothing is uploaded.

Why this is an import, not a login

NDIA APIs exist. They are not a participant notebook.

Registered providers, plan managers, and approved software aggregators — not families, not participants, not a third-party evidence instrument by default.

  • There is no public participant API that lets a family pull their own plan into Paradoxical.life.
  • my NDIS / myplace portals are not an open login we can wrap.
  • Scribe will not pretend to submit a plan, a claim, or an access request.

NDIS: How to connect to our systems

A provider API can come later, and only for a provider who already has consent and a clearance. A family export is what exists today. This is not a claim, not tax advice, and not a plan review.
