Audience and access
Who this is for, and how to be here.
Some people will read every page. Some people cannot. The site has to work for both, without becoming a diagnosis engine or a wellness fog.
Who this is for
- The person living overlapping conditions, sequential diagnosis, medication change, or an NDIS plan — including the ones who look fine from the office door.
- The room around them: parents, siblings, partners, carers, employers. The condition does not stay inside one body.
- The worker who only sees a chapter — coordinator, planner, teacher, clinician — willing to sit in the other chair without turning the person into a score.
- People who find forms, waitlists, and being believed three times harder than the appointment itself. Executive function is not a moral failing.
- People who need a page read to them, or who need to speak instead of type.
This is not for:
- Getting a label off a webpage.
- A crisis. If you are in danger, call 000.
- Legal advice, an NDIS decision, or a fight with your doctor.
How to have a page read
We did not lock you into one AI voice. Use the assistive tech you already have — your device reader, your browser’s speak function, or other AI assistive tech that knows your language, your speed, and a voice you can stand. The speaker in the header will also read the page you are on, using the browser’s own voice. Stop it the same way.
- iPhone / Mac: Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Speak Screen. Or Safari Reader view, then speak.
- Windows: Narrator (Ctrl + Windows + Enter), or Edge Immersive Reader.
- Android: Select to Speak, or TalkBack.
- Any desktop browser: Reader mode where it exists. Skip to content is the first tab on every page.
Filling things in is the other half. On Both Sides, Scribe will take your voice and file it. You should not have to type the whole book.
Why black, white, and a zap of colour
The world this site is about can feel dark and lonely. A pastel wellness theme would lie about that. So the page is ink on paper, or paper on ink — light mode, dark mode, nothing in between pretending to be calm.
Colour is a zap, not a coat of paint. Coherence, warmth, lived gold, service green: they mark a claim, a seat, a warning. They are not the only way to know. Every colour also has words. If you cannot see the zap, the sentence still stands.
Sharp and crisp is a respect for tired eyes, not a fashion. If the contrast is wrong for you, use the sun/moon in the header, or your device’s contrast and text-size controls. This page will not fight them.
